FIRE RISK WALES

Website & Service Terms

Last updated: 8 October 2026

These terms explain the basis on which you may use fireriskwales.co.uk and how enquiries, quotations and services are handled by Fire Risk Wales.

Important

A website enquiry does not by itself create a booking or contract. The agreed service, scope, price, attendance arrangements and any specific terms are confirmed separately in writing before work proceeds.

1. Using this website

The information on this website is provided for general information about fire risk assessment and related services. You may use the site for lawful purposes and to request information or quotations.

Guidance pages are not a substitute for advice on the specific circumstances of a particular building, legal matter or enforcement issue. Fire-safety requirements depend on the premises, its use, occupancy, management and applicable law.

2. Enquiries and quotations

Prices shown on the website are starting prices unless expressly stated otherwise. A quotation is prepared using the property and scope information available at the time.

A quotation may need to change if the information supplied is incomplete or inaccurate, the building or requested scope is materially different from what was described, additional areas or services are requested, or access/complexity materially affects the work. Any material change should be discussed before additional work proceeds.

3. When a booking is confirmed

A booking is confirmed when Fire Risk Wales has accepted the instruction and confirmed the agreed scope, price and attendance arrangements. Any payment terms, cancellation arrangements or other job-specific conditions stated in the quotation, booking confirmation or invoice form part of that instruction.

4. Access and information

The client is responsible for providing accurate property information and arranging safe, lawful and reasonably sufficient access to the areas included within the agreed scope. Where areas are inaccessible, unsafe, concealed or outside the agreed scope, this may be recorded as a limitation and may affect the assessment or report.

5. Fire risk assessments and reports

A fire risk assessment reflects the premises, information, accessible areas and conditions observed at the time of the assessment, subject to any stated assumptions and limitations.

An assessment is not a guarantee that a fire will not occur, is not a certificate that a building is free of all fire-safety risk, and does not transfer the Responsible Person’s legal duties to the assessor. The person or organisation with legal responsibility for the premises remains responsible for considering the findings, maintaining fire precautions and taking appropriate action.

Recommendations are based on the agreed scope and professional judgement applied to the information and conditions available at the time. Where specialist testing, intrusive investigation, design work or another professional discipline is required, this may be recommended separately.

6. Fire door inspections

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, a fire-door inspection is a visual inspection of accessible condition and performance-related features. It does not certify the original fire-resistance rating of a door and does not replace destructive testing, manufacturer evidence or specialist investigation where those are required.

7. Urgent and 24/48-hour work

Fast attendance or 24/48-hour report delivery is subject to scope, access, assessor availability and receipt of the information needed to complete the instruction. An urgent option is not guaranteed until confirmed in writing.

8. Client use and third-party reliance

Reports are prepared for the client and purpose identified in the instruction. If another person, purchaser, lender, insurer, managing agent, authority or third party wishes to rely formally on a report, that should be raised before reliance is assumed. A report may not be altered or presented in a misleading or incomplete way.

9. Website content and external links

We aim to keep website information accurate and current, but legislation, standards and official guidance can change. External links are provided for convenience and do not mean we control or endorse all content on another website.

Unless otherwise stated, website text, branding and original material may not be copied for commercial use without permission.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Subject to that, any service-specific liability terms or limitations agreed for an instruction will be set out in the applicable quotation, engagement terms or report conditions.

11. Privacy

Personal information submitted through the website or provided in connection with an enquiry or instruction is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

12. Governing law

These website terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law, unless different mandatory consumer rules apply.
